DFB sacks national team coach Flick

The German Football Association (DFB) officially announced the dismissal of the men's national team head coach Flick, along with two assistant coaches, Sorg and Danny Röhl.

In a previous friendly match, the German national team led by coach Flick suffered a disappointing 1-4 defeat to Japan, causing widespread dissatisfaction among German football fans and the sports community. Now, the German Football Association (DFB) has officially announced that DFB President Neuenhof has made the decision that, effective immediately, Flick will no longer serve as the head coach of the German men's national team, and the two assistant coaches, Sorg and Danny Röhl, will also depart.

Neuenhof stated, "The committee unanimously believes that, following the recent disappointing results, the men's national team needs new motivation. We need to approach the European Championship with optimism and confidence. Personally, this is one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make during my tenure. I have a great appreciation for Flick and the abilities and character of the two assistant coaches. However, for the German team, sporting results are paramount. Therefore, this decision was unavoidable."

Following Flick's departure, Oliver Bierhoff, the director of sport for Germany, will temporarily assume the role of head coach to lead Germany in the upcoming friendly match against France.
